Know Yourself. Love Yourself.

FC - Woman Freedom

When you don’t really like or love yourself there is a constant need for validation and acceptance from other people.  Once you learn to love who you are, not just your physical features, proclivities, etc., but who you are at your CORE and SPIRIT — you are able to rise above the comments and discussions of others.  Additionally, you are then able to actually love and receive love from others because you can then identify real love.

I No Longer…

November 12, 2014 Self-Esteem No Comments
Meryl-Streep

Below is an excerpt from a very detailed quote by oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep.  Her words resonate.

“I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I’ve become arrogant, but simply because I reached a point in my life where I don not want to waste more time with what displeases or hurts me.

I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature.  I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me, and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me.

I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate.  I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise.  I do not adjust either to popular gossiping.  I hate conflict and comparisons…

In friendship, I dislike lack of loyalty and betrayal.  I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement.  Exaggerations bore me…and on top of everything, I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve any patience.”

Wow.    Meryl Streep is certainly a woman who knows who she is, what she wants, and what she will not tolerate.  Our desire is that all of us walk in a level of certainty and confidence in ourselves so that we will know when to draw a personal “line in the sand” and not compromise our values in order to please others.

Bravo, Meryl…Bravo.
