This true story, as told by the mom of  “Cindy”, a 15 year old 9th Grader, stopped us in our tracks.  We had to share it with you.

I left the house at 7:00 a.m., drove almost 3 hours for several meetings, then drove the 3 hours back home, exhausted.  I was ready to shower, relax and catch up with the family.  I am talking to my kiddo about her day when she shares with me that one of her classmates is experiencing abuse at home and was kicked out.

He was at a gas station, with one bag of clothes, 16 years old, broken and scared.

I was given a number to call for a service that would provide support, and the service that helps children was amazing. I packed up some dinner for the fella and  Cindy and I drove to where he was.

Cindy walked in with the food, and he started crying when he saw her. At that moment, I had the amazing opportunity to see love in action. Pure, unadulterated ministry.

The young man is fine and he’s safe. Ministry comes in all different forms. At that moment, he knew someone loved him and at that moment, that was all he needed.

Always remember that the smallest gesture can heal a broken heart.
