You Are So Much More

“.. your body is not a ride at an amusement park for people to get on and then get off and leave.

You are so much more than that…”

~

At some point as a woman you are going to have to stop saying “I can do everything a man can and more” when it comes to physical intimacy.  Yes, I think women are the strongest human beings on the planet, but we are NOT MEN!!!  It drives me crazy when I hear women say “I can have  sex randomly like a man.”   Stop fooling yourself –  for a lot of reasons –  but I’ll just state the physiological reason: sex for men is an EXTERNAL act and for women it’s an INTERNAL  act (this is obvious on many levels).  Women can say they want Samantha’s “Sex and the City”  life all they want, but let me remind you all…Samantha was a character and she ended up alone in the end.

It takes a strong person to experience emotion. Emotions are scary, especially those that we feel right after being intimate with another person. When you experience emotions, they can take over your body and mind because its an act of God coming from your spirit.  Our emotions can make us do crazy things if our mind is not right — which creates unnecessary stress on our bodies — not to mention or mind and spirit.

I can only speak for myself when I say that, as a woman, I know my body was not created just for the enjoyment of someone else.  I thought the act of intimacy was fun, but how long does the “fun” last?  What about permanent mental joy, happiness, and wholeness instead of temporary feelings like “fun”? I write this because it pains me to hear women, beautiful women that are created to be loved, whole, and happy talk about just having one night stands, or “we were just having a good time “.

I hope and pray that you would understand that your body is not a ride at an amusement park for people to get on and then get off and leave…we are so much more than that! YOU are so much more than that.

God did not create you to be someone else’s temporary state of “fun” or enjoyment.  He created you to be loved, to be protected, to be a wife, a mother, a sister, a best friend.  He created you to be loved.

I just want you to remember the next time you think you can date randomly ” just like a man” — think twice.  We are not built that way.  Remember yourself and who you are and the GREATNESS that is inside of you.

You are right on, Nia! I commend you for such an excellent presentation of the truth about the value of women. We were created to be much more than just a toy to be used as a sexual release. And that is also true of the male gender. It is up to us women to help both genders realize that random sexual experiences outside of marriage do not fill a need, but actually proliferate a greater need—the need to feel valued and appreciated for who we are. That fulfillment begins with filling the God-shaped vacuum in our heart with the One who created it. Only then can we find value and pass it on to others. As an award-winning author and international speaker for over 30 years, I have spoken to thousands of both genders, and can say with confidence that our true identity and discovery of our true value always begins with the One who knows us best. God, our creator. Keep on keeping on, girl, by telling it like it is!
